Preview: Fletcher vs. Ponte Vedra
Fletcher and Ponte Vedra are an even 4-4-1 against one another in play since January of 2015, but likely not for long. Fletcher will head out on the road to face off against Ponte Vedra at 7:20 p.m. on Friday.
Fletcher didn't get the result they wanted in their first match with Episcopal School of Jacksonville on Wednesday. They put up a good fight, but they still had to settle for second after a 2-1 loss on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra kept a clean sheet against Tocoi Creek on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Tocoi Creek. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ponte Vedra.
Fletcher's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-2. As for Ponte Vedra, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6-3 record this season.
Fletcher suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Ponte Vedra in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Fletcher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
