Basketball Game Preview: Eunice Cardinals vs. Jal Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cardinals duke it out with the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Eunice is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They took a 55-39 bruising from Texico on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Wolverines are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Jal posted their biggest win since January 4, 2024 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-36 victory over Loving. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Eunice's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Jal, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Eunice came up short against Jal in their previous matchup back in January, falling 47-34. Can Eunice avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
