Basketball Recap: Gibbs Find Success

If Cumberland Gap wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gibbs, they should've done a better job of containing Zack Turner. The Gibbs Eagles simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Cumberland Gap Panthers 86-42 thanks in part to Turner, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Lafleur, who posted eight points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave him a new career-high.

The win got Gibbs back to even at 6-6. As for Cumberland Gap, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Gibbs will be taking part in a tournament against Unicoi County at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. As for Cumberland Gap, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oliver Springs at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th.
