Baseball Recap: Loudon Triumphs

Loudon was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Heritage Mountaineers, sneaking past 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redskins also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Boston Montooth, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Heritage off the board. Montooth also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Loudon is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Kelso, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Caden Ridings, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Loudon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for Heritage, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mountaineers beat Loudon by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday.
