Baseball Game Preview: Daleville Broncos vs. Wes-Del Warriors

The Daleville Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Wes-Del Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daleville will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Daleville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Elwood on Saturday. The Broncos put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 8-2 win.

Daleville got a great performance from Tripp Pitts as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Caleb Aikin was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ayden Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Daleville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elwood only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, Wes-Del came up short against Southern Wells on Saturday, falling 23-3.

Wes-Del saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Summers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Summers brought in this season.

Wes-Del's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Daleville, their record is now 4-0.

Wes-Del's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Daleville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. It's a different story for Wes-Del, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Daleville's hitters?

Daleville beat Wes-Del 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
