Basketball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cooper couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 78-61 to the Sacred Heart Valkyries. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Valkyries recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

It was another big night for ZaKiyah Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards for Sacred Heart. The game was Johnson's third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Bri Wilkins, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Sacred Heart, their win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 33-3.

As of now, neither Cooper nor Sacred Heart have any future games scheduled.
