Volleyball Recap: Columbus Victorious

Columbus lost to Central back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Lions by a score of 2-0.

The win didn't come easy: Central scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21.

Keira Parsons paced Columbus' offense, picking up ten kills. Parsons got some help from Emma Cicora and her 24 assists. Katie Sheer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Central's loss came despite strong showings from Julianna Johnston and Abigayle Rowland. Johnston had ten digs and two assists, while Rowland had ten assists and four digs.

Columbus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Central, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coincidentally, Columbus and Central will both be playing St. Anne-Pacelli the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
