Basketball Recap: Eastern Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Eastern won against Peebles last Monday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Eastern Warriors took down the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs 54-35. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 30-29 back in December of 2024.

Lynchburg-Clay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joslyn Rockey, who posted eight points. Rockey has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Savannah Bell was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Eastern, bringing their record for this year to 11-4. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they moved to 6-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Eastern has already played their next game (against Fairfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lynchburg-Clay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-39 loss against Minford on the 18th.
