Baseball Recap: Smithton Takes a Loss

Smithton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Eugene Eagles.

Smithton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Bray, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Smithton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Eugene, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Smithton will square off against Tuscumbia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eugene, they will challenge Harrisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
