Basketball Recap: Western Falls Despite Big Games from Hudson Biggs and Carter Biggs

Western lost against Clinton Prairie back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Western Panthers fell 65-56 to the Clinton Prairie Gophers.

Carter Biggs and Hudson Biggs certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Carter posted 14 points, while Hudson went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points. Eli Mast was another key player, putting up six points.

Western's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-7. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Clinton Prairie, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western will venture away from home to face off against Tippecanoe Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they will head out to take on Fountain Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Clinton Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
