Basketball Game Preview: Independence Bulldogs vs. Chanute Blue Comets

Independence is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Chanute a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Independence Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chanute Blue Comets at 6:00 p.m. Independence will be strutting in after a victory while Chanute will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Independence earned a 48-38 win over Parsons.

Meanwhile, Chanute came up short against Field Kindley on Friday, falling 58-33. While losing is never fun, the Blue Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 127th).

Independence's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11-2. As for Chanute, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Independence came out on top in a nail-biter against Chanute in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 33-30. Does Independence have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chanute turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
