Soccer Recap: Maple Mountain's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Maple Mountain and Alta squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Maple Mountain had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Hawks. While losing is never fun, Maple Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Alta are ranked third).

Maple Mountain moved to 11-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Alta, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Maple Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alta, they will take on Bountiful at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Alta surely won't give up without a fight.
