Softball Game Preview: Maynard Tigers vs. Marlborough Panthers

The Maynard Tigers will head out to take on the Marlborough Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Maynard has three straight wins, Marlborough has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Maynard's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Notre Dame Academy.

The result came thanks to Maddy Karlon's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Raschi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Marlborough came up short against Grafton on Friday and fell 10-6.

Marlborough's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Maynard, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
