Preview: West Jordan Jaguars vs. Granger Lancers
West Jordan has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Jordan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
West Jordan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Cyprus with points to spare, taking the game 76-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
West Jordan's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rochelle Afo Manuma, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Giselle Muffet, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Muffet has scored all season. Atyana Crosby was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Granger's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Kearns, falling 59-29. The matchup was a close 23-21 at the break, but unfortunately for Granger it sure didn't stay that way.
West Jordan's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Granger, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything went West Jordan's way against Granger in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as West Jordan made off with a 53-29 win. Will West Jordan repeat their success, or does Granger have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
