Basketball Game Preview: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. Plantation Colonels

Two dominant guards in Ayden Mclean and Jabari Washington are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will face off against the Plantation Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Plantation likes a good challenge.

Stoneman Douglas is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 87-80 to Cooper City on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Plantation was able to grind out a solid win over McArthur on Monday, taking the game 73-63.

Plantation is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Stoneman Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything came up roses for Stoneman Douglas against Plantation when the teams last played back in January of 2022, as the team secured an 82-43 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Plantation's Donric Scott, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Stoneman Douglas to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
