Ellington came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Canton Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Give the Knights' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Camryn Fisher made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyla Gambacorta, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Emmalyn Thorpe was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Ellington's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
