Soccer Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft's game on Saturday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Jones by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Taft of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Taft was without their leading scorer, Juliette Popelka, in Saturday's contest. With Popelka sidelined, Angelina Sliwa got her first action of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Taft and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Jones, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-1.

Taft didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Maine West on the 6th. As for Jones, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Lane Tech on the 6th.
