Shelbyville has gone 7-2 against Clinton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Shelbyville will be strutting in after a victory while Clinton will be coming in after a defeat.

Shelbyville took a 27-point loss the last time they faced off against Eureka, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Hornets 20-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Meanwhile, Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Tri-Valley 56-6. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Vikings are ranked 171st).

Shelbyville's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Shelbyville was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 30-22. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
