Softball Recap: Kentridge Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kentridge extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-4 in the process. They never let the Kennedy Catholic Lancers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jozi Thompson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee Souvannahvanh, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Genesis Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Kentridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

As for Kennedy Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

On Kennedy Catholic's side, Bella Frank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

Looking ahead, Kentridge will square off against Kentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers are facing the Conquerors at the right time seeing as the Conquerors are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Kennedy Catholic, they will take on Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
