Basketball Game Preview: Berea Bulldogs vs. Travelers Rest Devildogs

Berea is 2-8 against Travelers Rest since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Berea Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Berea's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Berea turned things around against Pickens on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-32 victory over the Blue Flame. That looming 64-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Meanwhile, Travelers Rest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca. While losing is never fun, the Devildogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Bobcats are ranked 99th).

Travelers Rest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Berea, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-9.

Berea was able to grind out a solid victory over Travelers Rest in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 60-51. Does Berea have another victory up their sleeve, or will Travelers Rest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
