            Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Grossmont Foothillers        
        
		
        
        
            Mt. Carmel's game  last Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They never let the Grossmont Foothillers get on the board and left with  a   2-0  victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Sundevils have posted  since April 26th.
 Jack Grassa tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Mt. Carmel's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Ryder McCoy, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Mt. Carmel's record is now 17-12. As for Grossmont, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record  this season.
 Mt. Carmel will square off against Southwest EC at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Sundevils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.1  runs per game this season. Grossmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
