Baseball Recap: Paradise Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Paradise walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Prairiland Patriots a 4-0 shutout on Friday. Give the Panthers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Prairiland's batters probably weren't too happy with Braden Wilson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (he gave up zero walks). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Wilson.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cash Watson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayden Olalde, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Paradise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Prairiland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13-1.

Coming up, Paradise will challenge New Diana on Saturday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Prairiland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
