Baseball Recap: Croton-Harmon Comes Up Short

If Croton-Harmon was riding high fresh off their 22-9 takedown of Hendrick Hudson on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeland Hornets on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Oren Rouas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Croton-Harmon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Sur, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Croton-Harmon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lakeland, their record now sits at 6-8.

Looking ahead, Lakeland will face off against Westlake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Croton-Harmon will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' contest: after the Hornets face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Croton-Harmon again at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
