Basketball Recap: McGavock Takes a Loss

McGavock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 55-45 to the Davidson Academy Bears. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 47-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McGavock's record is now 5-4. As for Davidson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGavock will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Davidson Academy, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Centennial at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Davidson Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Centennial has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
