Gulf Coast is 8-2 against Palmetto Ridge since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Gulf Coast Sharks will face off against the Palmetto Ridge Bears at 7:00 p.m. Gulf Coast's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Gulf Coast fell victim to Venice and their airtight defense back in December of 2024. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Indians are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Palmetto Ridge finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They came up short against Naples, falling 6-1. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Jazmyn Holloway, who's now up to three this season.

Palmetto Ridge suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 5-3-1. As for Gulf Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.
