Softball Recap: Foothills Christian Knights vs. Escondido Charter Tigers
Foothills Christian extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-10 in the process. They lost 14-1 to the Escondido Charter Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since April 1st.
As for Escondido Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Escondido Charter, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Escondido Charter's part, Lilly Harper made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Harper has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adelyn Hood was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Rose Gomez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
As of now, neither Foothills Christian nor Escondido Charter have any future games scheduled.
