Baseball Recap: Brookfield Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

While Brookfield Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights with a sharp 16-6 win on Wednesday. The Blue Knights' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Brookfield Academy got a big performance out of Luke Rogutich, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Rogutich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Nicholson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Brookfield Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Brookfield Academy will welcome Dominican at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, they are taking a road trip to face off against Greenfield at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
