Soccer Game Preview: Westminster Academy vs. New Iberia

The Westminster Academy Crusaders will face off against the New Iberia Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westminster Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Lafayette Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, New Iberia entered their tilt with Comeaux on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Spartans 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

New Iberia has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six matches. As for Westminster Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-2.

Westminster Academy might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from New Iberia when the teams last played back in January of 2022.
