Basketball Recap: Incarnate Word Academy Comes Up Short

Incarnate Word Academy played against Woodsboro on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Layton Jochetz, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Hatchett, who shot 56% from the field en route to 10 points.

Incarnate Word Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. Woodsboro's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Incarnate Word Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-32 defeat against La Vernia on the 5th. As for Woodsboro, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-42 loss against Alice on the 5th.
