Volleyball Recap: MacDonald Comes Up Short

MacDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Milpitas Trojans. If the Condor were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

MacDonald started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 27-25, 25-23, 25-8.

Tobin Ley paced MacDonald's offense, picking up 24 kills. Ley got some help from Dylan Bugarin and his 35 assists. Ley was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

MacDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Milpitas, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, MacDonald and Milpitas will both be playing Palo Alto the next time they take the court. Milpitas will head out to face Palo Alto at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, while MacDonald will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
