Basketball Recap: Bethel-Tate Victorious

Bethel-Tate was handed a 34-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clermont Northeastern Rockets 51-48. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 55-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Clermont Northeastern lost, don't look at Connor Yeager. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 25 boards. Yeager is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schmidt, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Bethel-Tate now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clermont Northeastern, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel-Tate will head out to challenge East Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Clinton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Clermont Northeastern, they are taking a road trip to take on Blanchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clermont Northeastern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
