Volleyball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Hinkley Thunder

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will face off against the Hinkley Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas Jefferson will be strutting in after a victory while Hinkley will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Thomas Jefferson earned a 3-1 win over Vista PEAK Prep. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Thomas Jefferson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Hinkley didn't have quite enough to beat George Washington on Monday and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Hinkley sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 12-25, 15-10.

Thomas Jefferson now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hinkley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Thomas Jefferson came up short against Hinkley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
