Softball Recap: Hillcrest Starts Season with Win on the Road

Hillcrest had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Greer Yellow Jackets with a sharp 10-2 victory. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 9-0 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Maria Sialmas was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Cross, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Woodruff on the 1st. Greer will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Berea at 6:00 p.m. on March 11th.
