Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Logan Calderon and Josiah Hernandez Lead University to Victory

University waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Oviedo Lions.

University had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23.

Leading University to victory were Josiah Hernandez and Logan Calderon. Hernandez had 24 digs and one assist, while Calderon had 13 digs and two blocks. Those 13 digs gave Calderon a new career-high.

University's record is now 6-15. As for Oviedo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will welcome Winter Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oviedo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lyman at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
