Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rootstown walked away with it. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 37-36 victory over the Smithville Smithies. The win was nothing new for the Rovers as they're now sitting on 16 straight.

Nadia Lough was her usual excellent self, shooting 64% from the field to rack up 22 points and seven rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addy Germann, who posted three points.

Rootstown's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-1. As for Smithville, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 23-4.

Coming up, Rootstown will face off against Fort Frye at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Frye will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Rootstown surely won't give up without a fight. Smithville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
