Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Victorious

Covenant Christian came out on top against Monrovia on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Warriors took their contest against the Bulldogs 8-5. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Blake Cope was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is 10-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bryce Eagen, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Covenant Christian's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Monrovia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Covenant Christian will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Indianapolis Kings at 5:30 p.m. As for Monrovia, they will take on University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
