Basketball Recap: Mouhamadou Mbodj Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mcnair

On Friday, the W D Mohammed Caliphs earned a 61-51 victory over the McNair Mustangs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead W D Mohammed to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mouhamadou Mbodj, who posted 29 points. The matchup was Mbodj's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramadan Law, who had 19 points.

Rashad Blalock and Dennis Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Blalock scored 12 points along with five boards and four steals, while Johnson earned eight points and six rebounds. Blalock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kamari Reynolds, who put up three points and seven boards.

W D Mohammed's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for McNair, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

W D Mohammed has already played their next contest, a 70-64 loss against Lamar County on the 25th. As for McNair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-37 defeat against Drew on the 25th.
