Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar suffered their biggest loss since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 13-3 to the Wayne Academy Jaguars. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Jackson Whitcomb was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sullivan Reed, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Whitcomb wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Lamar lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Lamar moved to 14-4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Wayne Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lamar beat Wayne Academy by a score of 13-3 on Thursday.
