Basketball Recap: Nuiqsut Trapper Starts off Right with Win over Alak

Nuiqsut Trapper had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Alak Huskies by a score of 40-30. This was payback for the Trappers, who suffered a 68-58 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alak lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaden Ahmaogak, who posted 11 points. That was a full 36.7% of Alak's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Alak is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Nuiqsut Trapper has already played their next match, a 54-31 defeat against Alak on the 18th. As for Alak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-28 win against Kali on the 17th.
