Rockdale County is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since January 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Grayson 89-50. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Newton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 51-42 victory over Grovetown on Tuesday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Warriors are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Rockdale County, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
