Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Bellows Falls Terriers, falling 14-1. The Cosmos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Terriers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Bellows Falls, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games.

For Bellows Falls' part, Eli Allbee was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Allbee has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Quincy Knapp, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will take on Woodstock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wasps will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cosmos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bellows Falls, they will square off against Fair Haven at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
