It was a good run, but Atchison unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 15-4 to the Troy Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Phoenix of the 17-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jadyn Boldridge was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Weedon-Jacobs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Atchison suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 12-3. As for Troy, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Atchison by a score of 10-2 later that day.
