Soccer Recap: Fort Fairfield Starts Season with Loss at Home

Fort Fairfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Washburn Beavers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Fort Fairfield fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Washburn since Thursday.

Washburn now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Washburn will welcome Van Buren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Fairfield will be paying especially close attention to the Beavers' game: after the Beavers face off against Ashland, they'll take on Fort Fairfield again at 7:00 p.m. on September 19.
