Softball Recap: Sprague Has No Trouble Against South Salem

Sprague's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the South Salem Saxons as they made off with a 16-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Olympians considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Kaylee Lundeen, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Barr, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Sprague hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Sprague's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for South Salem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sprague will host North Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.27 runs per game on average), something the Olympians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Salem, they will welcome Sheldon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
