Softball Recap: Kenwood Drops Season-High Score on Lansdowne

Kenwood scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Lansdowne Vikings by a score of 18-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (12), the Bluebirds still had to take the loss.

Kayla Hill and Zoey Lam stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hill got on base in eight of her ten plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Lam got on base in seven of her eight plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alena Abdulaleem, who got on base in six of her eight plate appearances with one run and one double.

Kenwood's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lansdowne, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Kenwood will square off against rival Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lansdowne is set to challenge their familiar foe Patapsco at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
