Softball Recap: Centralia Comes Up Short at Home Against Wabaunsee

Centralia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Wabaunsee Chargers on Monday, falling 16-1.

Tessa Parthemer and Malayna Becker did some serious damage despite the final result: Parthemer scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while Becker scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Hayden Kramer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

The victory keeps Wabaunsee at an undefeated 5-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chargers beat Centralia by a score of 9-2 later that day.
