Huntingdon put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over Peabody. Given Huntingdon's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Peabody is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Huntingdon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashton Hutcherson, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hutcherson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gray Eubanks, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Huntingdon's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Waverly Central took a serious blow against Lewis County on Friday, falling 48-13.
Huntingdon's win lifted them to 9-1 while Waverly Central's defeat dropped them down to 7-3.
