Basketball Recap: Mariner Comes Up Short

Mariner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 71-58 to the Island Coast Gators. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-48 two weeks ago.

Jose Bido had an outrageously good game for Island Coast as he went 11 for 13 en route to 23 points and five steals. Bido's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. SirJoshua Anderson was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Mariner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Island Coast, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.

Mariner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-31 loss against Gulf Coast on the 22nd. As for Island Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-41 victory against North Fort Myers on the 24th.
