Basketball Recap: Southern Christian Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Southern Christian Patriots ended up a good deal behind the Trinity Christian Eagles and lost 53-38. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Christian lost, don't look at Jedd Scott. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Scott is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Johnson, who earned eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Southern Christian's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Trinity Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Southern Christian and Evangel Christian will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Evangel Christian will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Southern Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Christian, they will take on Lakeside School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
