Recap: Westlake Wolverines vs. Thomas Stone Cougars
The Westlake Wolverines lost against the Thomas Stone Cougars back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Westlake fell 50-40 to Thomas Stone. Westlake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Westlake still got an impressive performance from Raynna Ratchford, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caila Alexander, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Westlake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Thomas Stone, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will face off against Huntingtown at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Huntingtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. As for Thomas Stone, they will head out on the road to take on McDonough at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully McDonough focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
